SUMMARY: Next Solutions is seeking experienced and motivated Cable Service Technicians, Broadband Technicians, Internet Installers, Telecommunications Technicians, and Field Service Technicians to support residential installation, service, and troubleshooting activities throughout the Detroit market and surrounding areas.

Technicians will install, maintain, and troubleshoot cable television, high-speed internet, phone, and connected home services while delivering an exceptional customer experience during every service visit.

This opportunity is ideal for self-motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, customer interaction, problem-solving, and working independently in the field.

The ideal candidate has previous experience installing or servicing telecommunications equipment and is comfortable working independently in customer homes and businesses.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Install and activate cable television, broadband internet, and phone services
  • Perform new service installations, reconnects, upgrades, and service transfers
  • Troubleshoot service interruptions and diagnose connectivity issues
  • Install and configure modems, routers, cable boxes, and related equipment
  • Run and secure interior and exterior wiring according to installation standards
  • Relocate and install cable outlets and network connections
  • Verify signal levels, service quality, and equipment functionality
  • Educate customers on equipment operation and service features
  • Complete assigned service work orders and installation requests
  • Follow company safety standards and installation procedures
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and service records
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during every customer interaction

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Previous experience installing cable television, broadband internet, telecommunications, satellite, fiber, or related technology services preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned workload
  • Customer service or sales experience is a plus
  • Comfortable working outdoors and inside customer homes
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds regularly
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in a variety of environments
  • Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, and installation tools safely
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to successfully complete required drug screening
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when business needs require
  • Ability to meet productivity, quality, and customer service expectations

Equipment Experience Preferred

WORK HOURS & LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a field-based role requiring full-time travel to customer locations, within a <100-mile service area around Detroit
  • The typical schedule is 40-50 hours per week, including alternating weekends as needed. 
  • Technicians may work in residential, commercial, indoor, and outdoor environments.
