Job Description

We are currently seeking Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team for a Data Center project! This is a field-based position working in a fast-paced environment supporting large-scale commercial installations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to grow with a world-class electrical contractor.


Per Diem and Over Time available


Responsibilities:

  • Install, pull, route, and terminate low voltage cabling for commercial projects
  • Work with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coaxial, and other communication cabling systems
  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems
  • Install and configure access control systems including door hardware, badge readers, strikes, and control panels
  • Install, mount, and service CCTV/security camera systems and related equipment
  • Assist with installation and support of structured cabling systems, data racks, patch panels, cable trays, and support systems
  • Perform cable testing, labeling, certification, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, floor plans, and low voltage schematics
  • Maintain production quality standards and meet project deadlines
  • Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and jobsite cleanliness
  • Follow all company safety standards, procedures, and quality control requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and installation teams to ensure efficient workflow


Qualifications:

  • Previous low voltage, data cabling, telecommunications, or security system experience preferred
  • Experience pulling and terminating Cat5/Cat6 cable preferred
  • Experience with fiber optic installation, termination, and testing preferred
  • Familiarity with CCTV/security systems and access control installations preferred
  • Familiarity with low voltage hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and installation equipment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in commercial construction environments
  • Must be able to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen
