Job description


SAIC is seeking a Cable & Harness Technician to support the US Navy in Indianapolis, IN.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of Cables and Harness.
  • Diagnose and repair damaged or malfunctioning wiring harnesses, using a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or issues in the harnesses, such as miswiring, poor connections, or insulation damage.
  • Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas.
  • Performs tasks with a high degree of care / Quality and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assembles cables & harness assemblies, and adapters by working from samples, Technical Data packages, visual aids, wiring lists and Work Instructions.
  • Maintains accurate material control within the work area.
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate.
  • Follows and maintains accurate process documentation.
  • May use a variety of tools to perform tasks.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
  • HS and five (5) or AA degree and three (3) years' experience.
  • Assembly/production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in related field.
  • Motivated and detail oriented.
  • Excellent hand dexterity.
  • May occasionally perform duties in a standing, kneeling or squatting position.
  • Good eyesight and ability to distinguish color is necessary.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
