Staffmark is partnering with one of our major manufacturing partners in the Avon area to hire hands-on Manufacturing Technicians for their growing Cable Manufacturing operation. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with the client. The Manufacturing Technician will support a variety of cable production processes, including extrusion, braiding and stranding, re-spooling, bobbin winding, cable packaging, optical testing, and production data entry.


Key Responsibilities

· Operate extruder lines and ancillary equipment used in cable manufacturing.

· Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment and process parameters within established guidelines.

· Monitor material levels, product geometries, spool winding, and surface print quality throughout production runs.

· Review work orders, materials, specifications, drawings, and process requirements.

· Test and inspect cable to ensure it meets product and customer specifications.

· Perform cable packaging, re-spooling, bobbin winding, and other production activities as needed.

· Enter and maintain accurate production and quality information in company databases.

· Work closely with Engineering to support new processes and production development.

· Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and department goals.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Follow all safety procedures, ISO guidelines, and established manufacturing processes.

· Properly handle, label, and dispose of chemicals and materials according to established procedures.

· Support other production processes, departments, and operators based on business needs.


Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or technical training preferred.

· 1–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

· Mechanical, technical, or industrial background preferred.

· Extrusion or optical fiber/cable manufacturing experience is a plus.

· Basic computer skills.

· Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.

· Ability to read drawings and specifications.

· Strong basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, metrics, formulas, conversions, and calculations.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

· Commitment to safety and quality.

· $23.00–$25.00 per hour

· Additional 8% shift differential for 2nd shift
