Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00

The IT Cable Plant Installation Technician will support the buildup and modernization of DoD facilities. The purpose of this task is to provide Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I)/Information Technology (IT) electronic systems equipment, infrastructure, engineering, design, installation, and supply and warehouse support. Services required include design, installation, termination, test, and documentation of desktop devices, peripherals, IT cable plant, rack, power distribution units for the installation of C4I/IT electronic systems and equipment, as assigned and in accordance with government installation design plans (IDP). Assist other functional areas as needed.

• ET III: Desktop Deployment 3 years+ (Required), System Administration 3 years+ (Required), Cabling 3 years+, Engineering Technician 3 years+, Education Associates preferred.
• ET IV: Desktop Deployment 6 years+ (Required), System Administration 6 years+ (Required), Cabling 6 years+, Engineering Technician 6+ years, Supervisory & Mentorship Experience, Crew Experience of 5 or more preferably, Education Bachelor’s Preferred.

• Install and manage servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and security devices.
• Install and configure operating systems and network hardware.
• Manage lab racks, cabling, inventory, and documentation.
• Maintain and operate lab test equipment.
• Apply STIGs and conduct ACAS scans.
• Configure and maintain HBSS and anti-virus solutions.
• Patch management and firmware updates.
• Support RMF documentation efforts.
• Perform system security checks and ensure compliance.

• Install and test copper, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
• Install, label, and document cable plants per IDP.
• Perform rack installation and cabling for IT and communications equipment.
• Conduct horizontal and vertical cable plant installation.
• Perform AV equipment racking and cabling.

• Install and configure thick and thin clients per Installation Design Plan.
• Install and configure servers, network switches, routers, and storage.
• Provide redundant power and grounding for equipment racks.
• Perform POST tests and document results.
• Install and maintain AV equipment (monitors, speakers, VTC, control panels).
• Maintain and update design documents (as-built/red‑line changes).
• Conduct external stakeholder coordination when required for network access.

• Install power circuits into equipment.
• Manage Air-Guard grommet installations.
• Perform floor tile cuts and firestopping as required.
• Conduct site surveys and coordinate with project teams.
• Present professional craftsmanship in all installation work.

• Proficient in system administration and network management.
• Experience with enterprise IT equipment installation.
• Strong understanding of STIG compliance and RMF.
• Experience with ACAS, HBSS, patch management.
• Proficient in structured cabling (Cat6A, fiber optics, coaxial).
• Familiar with AV systems installation and configuration.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• BICSI ITS Installer certification preferred.

• Operational knowledge of Personal Computer Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical directives.
• Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and techniques.
• Ability to travel/drive to client sites as needed within a 50-mile radius from the home duty station.

• Work primarily performed in factory, machine shop or construction environment.
• Require verbal communication of alarms or warnings clearly and quickly.
• Require maintaining equilibrium on uneven surfaces, ladders, stairs, scaffolding, poles or other objects.
• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling or crouching.
• Frequent bending and lifting heavy objects (20–50 lbs). Moving objects up to 50+ lbs horizontally.
• Frequent exposure to noise, weather conditions, pollutants, hazardous conditions.
• Use protective equipment such as hard hats, respirators, aprons, gloves, safety glasses.

Location: US Space Command Schriever & Peterson AFB – 100% onsite.

Clearance: TS or TS/SCI preferred.

Certifications: Systems Administrators – IIAT II / CompTIA Sec+ and BICSI Certification (major plus).

Salary: $90K> DOE with $5K Retention bonus or relocation assistance to Colorado Springs, CO.
