Job Description:

As an Assembler with L3Harris Technologies, you will play a key role in the production of electronic and electro-mechanical components for defense-related products in support of U.S. government contracts. This position involves hands-on assembly work, strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and active participation in daily team meetings focused on continuous improvement. You will be working in a highly regulated environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to safety are essential. Assemblers may be assigned to different programs within the organization. Specific duties, requirements, and compliance standards may vary by program. Additional training, certifications, or security clearances may be required based on program assignment.

Essential Functions:

  • Read, interpret, and execute assembly instructions as outlined in the Description of Manufacture (DOM) and other technical documents.
  • Assemble components and subassemblies using hand tools, tweezers, and automated equipment (e.g., assembly machines, press stakes, air screwdrivers).
  • Perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing according to established methods and sequence of operations.
  • Conduct visual inspections of components and subassemblies for defects before, during, and after assembly.
  • Verify completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards, blueprints, and DOMs.
  • Accurately complete required assembly and quality records and documentation.
  • Participate in daily GEMBA meetings to identify, discuss, and resolve production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a positive, respectful, and engaging work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety and security protocols.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to ITAR/EAR and other export control regulations.
  • Work safely and responsibly with or around explosive materials and components, following all company, industry, and regulatory safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle small parts and tools with precision.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.

  • Proficiency in hand soldering of electronic components.
  • Certification in IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) or equivalent industry standard.
  • Familiarity with defense industry standards and quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ITAR/EAR compliance).

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing or sitting performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where explosives and hazardous materials are present.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 32 pounds.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
