Job description

Construction Estimator – Division 10 Specialties

Werco Building Specialties, Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team.

Werco is a family-owned commercial construction specialties company that has served Louisiana and the surrounding region since 1975. We specialize in Division 10 products and have built our reputation on accurate estimating, dependable service, and long-term relationships with our customers.

Position Summary

The Construction Estimator will review commercial construction plans and specifications, complete material takeoffs, obtain vendor pricing, and prepare accurate and competitive proposals.

The ideal candidate will be organized, comfortable working with deadlines, and able to manage multiple bids at the same time. Previous commercial construction estimating experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review commercial construction plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
  • Complete digital material takeoffs using PlanSwift
  • Identify Division 10 products, quantities, and project requirements
  • Obtain pricing and product information from manufacturers and vendors
  • Prepare and submit quotes using QuickBooks
  • Review alternates, allowances, exclusions, and special bid requirements
  • Track bid invitations, deadlines, addenda, and proposal submissions
  • Communicate with general contractors regarding bid questions and project requirements
  • Maintain organized electronic estimating and project files
  • Follow up on submitted bids when needed
  • Coordinate awarded-project turnover with Werco’s project managers and office staff
  • Learn Werco’s products, manufacturers, customers, and estimating procedures

  • Wall and corner protection

  • Other commercial specialty products

Qualifications

  • Must have at least one year experience in commercial construction
  • Ability to read and understand commercial construction plans and specifications
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • PlanSwift experience strongly preferred
  • QuickBooks and Microsoft 365 experience preferred
  • Division 10 or commercial specialties experience is a major plus

Schedule

This is a full-time, in-office position.
