Job description

Position Summary

The General Production Floor Employee supports the production of custom cabinetry and millwork by performing a variety of fabrication, assembly, and finishing tasks. This role works closely with carpenters, machine operators, and supervisors to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Shop Production & Assembly

  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of custom cabinets and millwork components
  • Operate basic woodworking equipment (saws, sanders, drills, routers, clamps, etc.)
  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials to specification
  • Assist with cabinet carcass assembly, fitting doors/drawers, and hardware installation
  • Sand, prep, and finish components as directed
Material Handling

  • Load/unload materials, deliver stock to workstations
  • Organize, label, and prepare parts and subassemblies
  • Maintain clean and safe workspace, follow 5S/lean principles when applicable
Quality & Accuracy

  • Inspect parts for defects or inaccuracies
  • Read and follow shop drawings, cut lists, and work orders
  • Report issues or discrepancies to supervisor or lead craftsman
Safety & Shop Maintenance

  • Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Assist in daily cleanup, equipment checks, and general shop organization
  • Support preventative maintenance efforts when assigned
Qualifications

Experience

  • 1+ year experience in carpentry, cabinet fabrication, woodshop, or related trade preferred (willing to train motivated candidates)
Skills

  • Basic understanding of woodworking tools and equipment
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship mindset

Physical Requirements
