A Cabinet Designer position is currently open at our Emporia, KS location. Career opportunities may be available to full-time employees.
Objectives:
To be an integral part of our cabinet department sales team by demonstrating excellent customer service skills in our retail store.
Our ideal candidate is creative, takes pleasure in solving problems, is able to work under pressure, can up-sell to customers and enjoys being part of a team. Teamwork at Sutherlands means participating in team decisions, maintaining good working relationships, supporting co-workers and our business goals.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Computer-aided cabinet design using the latest 20/20 software and product catalogs
  • Work closely between customers and installers throughout the entire process
  • Maintain an excellent salesfloor presentation of our products
  • Be able to assist customers with questions or concerns, and guide them towards the right product(s)
  • Assist with refunds, exchanges, and warranty issues
  • Demonstrate a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Be motivated, hardworking and honest

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have prior experience with the mechanics of cabinet design, computer design, and appliances. A varied schedule will include day, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Proficient with Windows operating system
  • Understanding of basic Kitchen Design fundamentals

Salary:
Pay will be based on commission, with a guaranteed wage, based on your level of experience.
