ABOUT BARRINGTON STAGE COMPANY

Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking Bartenders to join our Cabaret team in Pittsfield, MA.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Bartenders provide quality and efficient service to our customers in our 94-seats cabaret space by responsible pouring wine, beer, pre-made cocktails, coffee and light snacks. The venue is a small performance with a bar inside the space (which means bartenders get to see every performance) located at 36 Linden Street in Downtown Pittsfield. This position is perfect for someone with a day job who loves interacting with people and live music and is looking for a fun way to make some extra money.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Serve drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks to our patrons before and after the cabaret performance.
  • Track and complete transactions in our Point-of-Sale Square.
  • Keep patrons and orders moving in the tight time-frame prior to the performance.
  • After the performance, clean-up space, wash glassware, restock inventory, and close out the sales bank with the other bartender and supervisor.
  • Ideal candidates would be available to work at least 15 of the 19 dates listed below

In general shifts are from 6:30pm-10pm on each of the following days but those times can shift by half an hour depending on length and needs of the performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal skills across different personalities and ages.
  • Experience serving and comfort around alcohol
  • Experience handling cash and credit card transactions
  • Must be able to work from a standing position for at least 60 minutes and able to lift a 30 lb box from table height and transport at least 50 ft.
  • A love for music, especially musical theatre and jazz, helpful
  • Reliable transportation to and from the venue.
