Job description

ISHPI is seeking a Sr. Software/Applications Developer (on-site) to support the Command and Control (C2) Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA.ย  This role will manage the supported systems of the C5ISC and provides services to include system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing.


Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software using multiple software development methodologies including Agile. Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications. Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools. Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Acts as task leader on projects. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on the development team. Participates in development of software user manuals.


Education and Experience: Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years applications development experience using programming languages (e.g. Rails, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, .NET, and Java etc.).

Certification: A current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification is required. Additional specific information assurance certification requirements may be required at the task order level.
