Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of engineering/technical tasks including but not limited to equipment repair, cabling, inspection, installs, modifications, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Attaches fiber optic connectors, RJ-45 connectors, and DB type connectors, and dresses cable installations so that the finished product presents a well-organized and professional appearance.
  • Installs CANES, NMT, ADNS, COMSEC, KW46, and other various systems.
  • Works with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C4ISR system installations.
  • Travel may be required to various work sites, including OCONUS.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with current and active OSHA 10 certification.
  • Experience installing C4ISR equipment for the US Navy.
  • Must have experience with and working knowledge of NAVSEA standard concepts and policies/procedures within the field of electronics repair, fabrication, and installation.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a Secret government security clearance.
  • Applicant must be willing to travel to various work sites, including OCONUS.
  • Must be proficient as a C4ISR system installer, with prior practical work experience with Department of Defense and/or major telecommunications services or equipment providers.
  • Understanding of and experience complying with with drawings completed in accordance with the SPAWAR Afloat Installation Process Handbook.
  • Skilled and experienced in the safe and efficient operation of common installation power and hand tools including hand-held saws, drills, hole punches, levels, crimpers, fusion splicers, and conduit benders.
  • Skilled in the operation of all commonly used installation test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, voltmeters, VSWR meters, Bit-Error Rate Test Sets, and CAT 5e/6 cable testers.
  • Possess a consistent record of good workmanship and compliance to applicable work and industry standards.
  • Possess the ability to work with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C4ISR system installations.
  • Must be able to work in high heat spaces, confined spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, and lift up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications:

  • Multi-pin, fiber optic connector, Air-blown fiber, and KITCO certifications.
