Job description

This role is for a hands-on electrical/electronics engineer that wants to work on emerging technologies utilized in some of the most critical and demanding missions in the aerospace and defense industry. As an Electrical Liaison Engineer at SNC, you will play a key role in the production, testing and continuous improvement of electronic systems and payloads for a variety of specialized aircraft. As the primary technical liaison, you will work directly with our integrated electronics hardware in an aircraft production environment, collaborating closely with Program Mangers, Design Engineers, Quality Engineers, Test Engineers and the avionics technicians that build our designs.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies in electrical designs to ensure our fast-paced production lines can continue without disruption
  • Interpret electrical engineering drawings and technical specifications, and advise technicians and quality inspectors on design requirements
  • Incorporate drawing changes and product improvement updates using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Zuken or CATIA
  • Generate engineering dispositions for non-conforming conditions that occur during on-aircraft assembly and testing, ensuring solutions adhere to stringent quality and airworthiness requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and advise remote design engineering teams on requirements and limitations specific to assembly and test in the production environment

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Experience creating and interpreting wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and wire harness drawings
  • Proficiency in electrical harness design and testing techniques
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design software
  • Ability to work on-site in an aircraft production environment
  • Ability to function independently and communicate effectively with team members located remotely at different work sites

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Background in the aerospace, aviation, or defense industry
  • Experience with Military or FAA airworthiness standards for aircraft electrical systems
  • Experience interpreting and applying industry standards such as MIL-STD/MIL-SPEC, NAS, SAE, etc.
  • Experience designing and analyzing electronic signal interconnect and power systems for aircraft
  • Experience working with digital Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Experience working with aerospace and aviation industry-standard electrical design principles and manufacturing and production processes

  • Precision in designing, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems and components.
  • Ability to analyze complex electrical/electronic systems and evaluate performance data to identify problems and improve designs.
  • Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic issues.
  • Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Ability to understand technical documents, electrical/electronic schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
  • Ability to handle small components, tools, and equipment with precision.
