Job Summary

The Project Executive is a senior leader of C. Herman's project delivery organization within a market. This role is responsible for strategic oversight from pursuit through closeout, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, safety, and client satisfaction across multiple projects.

The Project Executive is a seasoned construction leader who excels at building high-performing teams, fostering strong client relationships, and delivering complex multifamily projects with consistency and integrity. As a Project Executive, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Directors and C-Suite individuals while mentoring the next generation of construction professionals.

Key Job Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & Project Oversight

  • Lead multifamily projects through all phases, from preconstruction and contract execution through closeout and warranty.
  • Provide strategic oversight across financial performance, quality control, scheduling, safety, and risk management.
  • Oversee multiple project teams simultaneously, ensuring alignment with company goals, staffing plans, and resource needs.
  • Provide direct, day-to-day oversight of field operations through regular site presence and active engagement with project teams and trade partners.

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain full accountability for project profitability, cost control, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Review monthly financials, validate projections, and ensure timely owner billing and collections.
  • Drive operational consistency and continuous improvement across all assigned projects.

Preconstruction & Risk Management

  • Assist preconstruction efforts, including scope reviews, work package validation, and subcontractor and supplier selection.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and issue resolution.
  • Ensure contracts, delivery methods, and project execution strategies are aligned with business objectives.

Talent Development & Culture

  • Mentor and develop Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and emerging leaders.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in multifamily construction, including leadership of complex projects.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple project teams and deliver consistent financial and operational results.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, contracts, risk management, and delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated success building client relationships and supporting business development efforts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally resolve issues with clients, subcontractors, and other third parties in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency with construction management and office productivity software, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project or other web-based or mobile document and project management solutions.
  • Experience with Procore Construction Management software preferred
