Job description

Receptionist

The Receptionist provides front desk support to BYU-Pathway Worldwide. This position provides a high level of customer service and professionalism to all they interact with, which includes organization leadership and executives, church officers, visitors, and students. Receptionists are expected to keep up with a professional environment, the quick pace of the office, and regularly changing schedules. Being teachable, perceptive, and proficient at learning are required to effectively manage the competing demands and priorities associated with this position. The Receptionist position is one of high visibility and often includes working with documents and information that are confidential, sensitive, and of high importance to BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

The position is a part-time student employee position. You must be enrolled as a CES Student and living in Utah to apply. It requires fluency in English both in writing and conversation. It is located at the Triad Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The incumbent will be expected to work 20 hours per week on-site during core business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

By applying for this position, you are indicating that you are currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, are willing to physically reside and perform the work in Utah, are currently enrolled as a degree seeking student at one of the CES Institutions (Ensign College, BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU, BYU-Idaho, or BYU-Hawaii Online), and are willing to come into the BYU-Pathway Worldwide headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah every day of the week.

Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk support and provide a professional public image for BYU-PW.
  • Welcome high-profile guests and visitors to the Executive Office.
  • Perform routine office duties such as typing, filing, ordering and restocking supplies, entering data, drafting correspondence, running errands, and scheduling rooms and appointments.
  • Collaborate with others in maintaining an organized work environment and manage the logistical demands of an office.
  • Receive, screen, and place phone calls for the Executive Office.
  • Complete special projects including (but not limited to): performing research and data analysis, gathering information for presentations, relaying assignments, and report editing and writing.
  • Draft professional correspondence and communication.
Qualifications
  • Must be a student at a CES Institution.
  • Some office experience preferred.
  • Highly professional with mature judgement and demeanor.
  • Capable of complete discretion and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational, writing, grammar, and editing skills.
  • Highest proficiency with written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Humble and willing to learn, open to feedback.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Sound judgement in decision-making.
  • Highly detail-oriented and mindful of others' needs.
  • Excellent time management and highly proactive.
  • Strong ability to prioritize competing tasks, demands, and responsibilities.
  • Responsible, reliable, and accountable.

Worthiness Qualification: Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple-worthy.
