Job description

This position reports to:
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Your role and responsibilities
The Winding Utility Technician is responsible for supporting the unit in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Uses machinery and equipment on the shop floor. Reads and interprets the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.
The work model for the role is: Onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Operate BWS and other winding equipment across multiple positions; ensure proper setup, safe operation, and provide cross-functional coverage to maintain uptime.
  • Balance work cell flow, monitor WIP, prioritize jobs, and track output, downtime, and scrap to meet production goals and maintain continuous operations.
  • Lead/assist with changeovers, verify first-piece quality, troubleshoot common machine issues, and perform basic preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Perform in-process inspections, address nonconforming material, follow safety standards, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive efficiency improvements through Lean initiatives.

Qualifications for the role
  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; 1+ year of manufacturing or equivalent military experience (technical coursework may substitute). Forklift and motor experience preferred; must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Core Skills & Teamwork: Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to follow written/verbal instructions; willing to cross-train, learn new roles, and support training others in a team environment.
  • Physical Capabilities: Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive motions; lift up to 50 lbs and operate machinery for extended periods while wearing required PPE.
  • Work Environment Readiness: Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with noise, temperature changes, and moving equipment.
