ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Supply Chain Professional with a background in manufacturing or related field. Our Buyers are responsible for planning, negotiating, and purchasing components in support of our manufacturing facility in Livermore, California. The ideal candidate would consistently:

  • Be a team player that excels in maximizing Supplier Performance
  • Expertly manage competing priorities
  • Identify and lead initiatives to reduce cost and increase service
  • Access risk and proactively resolve potential issues with continuity of supply
  • Work closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Sales and Warehouse to optimize GILLIG's Supply Chain and ensure production material is stocked as required
  • Plan and place purchase orders, with appropriate Lead Time for assigned commodities
  • Expedite and resolve issues
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate new suppliers and technologies
  • Improve operational efficiency in the supply chain
  • Manage supplier relationships and be the point of contact for all supplier issues
  • Investigate, determine root cause, and resolve for inventory and invoicing discrepancies
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of quality, service and total cost in support of our business goals
  • Performs other duties as required

Through individual contributions, established procedures and cross functional influencing, GILLIG's Buyers ensure all materials, services, and supplies are available as required to support GILLIG Production.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain role
  • Experience with Supplier Managed Inventory Contracts
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to create, analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Knowledge of lean principles is preferred
  • Proficient in use of Syteline MRP system a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Assignments are complex and broad in scope requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadership
  • Occasional overtime is required
  • Regularly required to sit, stand and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
  • Working environment includes office settings, manufacturing floor, and warehouse
  • Start time: 6:00 AM

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

$80,000 - $110,000/annual salary + bonus + premium benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
