The Dairy Buyer manages the Dairy department including stocking, facing, ordering, merchandising and inventory. They maintain order and cleanliness in the department. They train and supervise the Dairy Back Up and other staff working in the dairy. They provide excellent, professional customer service.

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Sets the standards for excellent, professional customer service
  • Oversees and manages dairy department operations, including stocking, facing, ordering, merchandising and inventory
  • Orders and stocks some freezer items
  • Trains, supervises and evaluates dairy department back-up
  • Participates in long and short-term department planning
  • Maintains order and cleanliness in the dairy department
  • Available to cashier when needed
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met

Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings and weekends
  • Knowledge of perishable products, suppliers and vendor pricing and ordering procedures
  • Strong merchandising skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem solving and communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
  • Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting between 10-40lbs. regularly
  • A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
