Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Senior Manager, Site Support based in Nampa, Idaho.
As a Senior Maintenance Manager, Site Support, the role will carry out responsibilities such as overseeing the daily maintenance operations across our Lactalis American Group plants in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves managing a skilled team, ensuring efficient maintenance of utilities systems (steam, refrigeration, air, and water), and leading key functions such as parts ordering, metal fabrication, and general machinery upkeep. A major focus of this position is the development and delivery of in-house training programs to build team expertise, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall mechanical reliability of plant operations. By coordinating across multiple plants, the Senior Manager, Site Support ensures that all systems function optimally, meeting regulatory compliance and safety standards, while also driving process improvements that reduce costs and improve operational performance. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and quality of the plant environment, directly impacting production capacity and reliability.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Team Leadership & Training:
  • Lead and manage a team of skilled maintenance technicians and managers.
  • Prioritize team training to build core competencies in mechanical, electrical, programming, and refrigeration systems.
  • Partner with the training team to develop in-house training programs to ensure accurate and timely evaluations and repairs of systems.
  • Foster a proactive and skilled maintenance team that meets the needs of plant operations.

Maintenance Operations:
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of utilities systems (steam, compressed air, refrigeration, and water).
  • Manage parts ordering to ensure timely availability and cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure all systems are working optimally and meet safety and compliance standards.
  • Facilities & Equipment Oversight:
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of the steam system, ammonia refrigeration systems, air compressors, dryers, and wastewater systems.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems to ensure plant equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Cutting, bending, welding and assembling stainless steel at times is critical to the operation. Being Involved in the identification of the need, and fabrication of highly customized parts that can be integrated into current equipment to gain efficiency and productivity is an important role.
  • Implement safety rules and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other external regulatory standards.

Process Improvement & Cost Management:
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and enhance performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Ensure maintenance project costs are within budget and regularly update senior management on financial status.

Safety & Quality Assurance:
  • Champion safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, ensuring all team members follow established protocols.
  • Be involved in hazard analysis and risk prevention to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Cross-Plant Coordination:
  • Work across the Nampa plants, ensuring consistent maintenance practices and optimal system performance at each facility.
  • Collaborate with the plant directors and project managers to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks across all sites.

Requirements
From your STORY to ours
Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education
  • A bachelor's degree is recommended.
  • A major in industrial or mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.

Experience
  • 8+ years in a progressively responsible maintenance role, with at least 4 years in a management position, is required.
  • Experience in managing maintenance in a food manufacturing facility or similar environment.

Certifications and specific knowledge
  • The following certifications are favored for this role: CMRP, CFSP, CMT, RETA, or GCAP.
  • Strong leadership skills to build and manage a team.
  • Expertise in steam systems, refrigeration, air systems, and water systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software (e.g., Maximo) and MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
