Job Title: Behavior Technician
Location: Several Locations available

Position Type: Full-Time and Part time available
Job Summary:
The Behavior Technician supports students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs in the school environment. The Behavior Technician implements individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs), collects data, and helps create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans.
- Support students in general education or special education classrooms to promote positive behaviors and reduce problematic behaviors.
- Use strategies to increase skills in areas such as communication, social interaction, and academic engagement.
- Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and skill acquisition.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed, while maintaining a calm disposition.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency and continuity of interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times in compliance with school and district policies.
- Complete training and certification requirements, including CPI which could include implementing restraint methods.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or special education setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- RBT certification OR proof of completion of 40 hour modules toward certification for Registered Behavior Technician (40 hour modules available online for free at Autism Partnership Foundation)
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field
- Familiarity with IEPs and BIPs
