POSITION SUMMARY:
The Meat/Seafood Butcher is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by preparing and ensuring the freshest quality product. The Butcher prepares precise and high-quality cuts of meat/seafood. They also maintain department conditions, to include proper ordering, inventory, production, and food safety standards in the meat/seafood areas. The Butcher provides product knowledge and expertise to our customers.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to represent and support Big Y's culture of caring while living our Mission & Vision.
  • Supports Big Y's commitment to Culture & Belonging.
  • Must be proficient in ordering for the entire sales areas of both the meat and seafood departments.
  • Must project a clean and professional appearance.
  • Ability to operate within company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Willingness to cross train and learn other areas as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store.
  • Must have completed Meat/Seafood Butcher and Culinary Training Program and/or passed a meat skills test.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
