Job Title: Butcher Shop Associate

Location: Shawmut Ave. Boston, MA

Schedule: Friday- Sunday

Employment Type: Part Time

Hours: Friday: 4:00pm-8:00pm, Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am-6:00pm

Pay: $19.00

Walden Local is searching for the next member of our 2021 Best Of Boston award-winning team to join our mission of Making Local Work, right here in the Northeast. You will be connecting local families with local farmers by assisting in the management of Walden Local's South End Boston butcher shop including: managing customer relationships and service (both in the store and promoting the Walden Local brand/monthly share program), inventory planning and management, food and store presentation, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the butcher shop. This is a great position for anyone who loves food and is looking to learn more about butchery!

What You'll Do

  • Safely handle and sell Walden Local products
  • Prepare the store for opening and closing daily
  • Maintain the store's cleanliness and safety
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Promote the Walden home delivery meat share program to customers
  • Educate customers on the meat industry, the Walden mission, and specific meat cuts
  • If interested, you'll also have the opportunity to learn butchery skills, including whole animal butchery and custom cuts
