Job description

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who loves helping people be successful and constantly learning new things? Don't settle for the same old, boring tech support position doing rote ticket resolution. You could work at a unique, growing organization where variety is the norm! INFRA is hiring a Technology Support Specialist who will play a key role in taking our tech support - both internal and external - to the next level and getting new projects off the ground.
INFRA is a cooperative association of more than 400 independently owned natural food retailers serving hundreds of communities in 45 states plus DC & Puerto Rico. Through collective buying power, operational support and exchange, events and education, and innovative marketing programs, we help member businesses thrive in step with their values and communities, a fast-changing industry, and the planet we share. If you are looking to use your skills to help increase the impact of a mission-driven organization, start a conversation by submitting your resume and cover letter!
As a Technology Support Specialist, you will help further INFRA's vision of a sustainable, equitable food system by keeping the tech on track so that our staff and our members can focus on bringing good food to communities across the country.

  • Assist members to access and use INFRA's technology tools
  • Improve member IT best practices and support.
  • Advise members on email, POS systems, and other basic tools
  • Pitch in to help wherever else may be helpful

Hardware/software inventory and management
  • Manage and document hardware and software installation, maintenance, and inventory

IT training and documentation
  • Support internal trainings, including technical review of documentation and delivery of training
  • Conduct educational technology user groups and/or in-person events

  • Promote information security within the business
  • Stay current with industry trends, hardware, software lifecycles, and new technology opportunities

*Travel up to 5% may be required for this position.
What you already know:
  • A lover of learning! We love self-taught, curious tech folks.
  • 1-3 years' experience working in IT and customer support
  • Advanced training or certification in an IT field required. Associates degree in IT field preferred
  • Experience proactively and reactively supporting both Mac and PC platforms
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, and SharePoint
  • Experience educating/training end users in a variety of ways (in-person, written, video)

  • Performs and prioritizes multiple tasks in a calm manner with great attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Skillful problem solver who takes initiative to find solutions and improve upon processes
  • Professional manner and ability to handle confidential situations
  • Clear, approachable written and verbal communicator; comfortable with speaking and presenting to large groups
  • Experience working with retail POS systems a plus (ECRS, LOC, etc.)

What you will learn:
  • How Tech Support and Systems Administration collaborate and work together to solve problems
  • This role has the potential to be a pro-in-place subject matter expert, or to grow within the Technology team in Systems Administration.
  • How the complexities of the food distribution system can be supported with technical solutions.
  • How our Microsoft and multi-tool environment can be improved and iterated to support user needs.

INFRA is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. We know that diversity of identities, experiences, and ways of thinking result in stronger lives for all our members and the communities we serve. Research shows that systemically excluded communities may be less confident in applying for positions where as little as one skill doesn't appear to fit - we welcome your resume and encourage you to apply.
INFRA is a mission-driven organization that strongly believes in rightful living. We provide our employees with robust technology, collaboration, professional development, hybrid work options, flexible schedules, work-life balance, and time in person with our tight-knit team and members.
