Auto-Wares Group of Companies is seeking a talented and ambitious person to work as the General Accountant. The general accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, reviewing month end financials for reasonableness, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes and annual audit, essentially overseeing the day-to-day financial recordkeeping of a company.

Key responsibilities of a general accountant include:

  • Data entry and posting: Recording financial transactions into the general ledger by posting journal entries for revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
  • Account reconciliation: Verifying the accuracy of financial records by reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and all Balance Sheet balances.
  • Month-end closing: Performing necessary accounting procedures to finalize financial records at the end of each month.
  • Process Definitions and Improvements: Digging into current processes to determine more efficient ways to do business. Writing or editing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Auditing support: Providing documentation and assistance to external auditors during financial audits.
  • Analysis and reporting: Analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of General Accounting experience
  • Dependable individual with excellent attendance
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, Power BI, Excel)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
