It encompasses everything from cloud computing and data analytics to customer relationship management (CRM) systems and cybersecurity solutions. Professionals in business technology work to align technological solutions with business strategies, ensuring companies remain competitive and efficient. This field often involves close collaboration between IT departments and other business units. Ultimately, business technology enables organizations to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and deliver better value to customers.

What are the qualifications to get a job in business technology?

The qualifications to get a job in business technology vary, but include postsecondary education or professional experience. A bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science is often necessary for business technology jobs, although an associate’s degree and experience may be sufficient. Job description

Come build the future with us! At Amazon, we are working to be Earth's Best Employer. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.
By working together on behalf of our employees, and in turn our customers, we are building the future one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. The scope and scale of our mission drives us to seek diverse perspectives, be resourceful, and navigate through ambiguity. Inventing and delivering things that were never thought possible isn't easy, but we embrace this challenge every day. Are you ready to embrace the challenge?
Trust is the foundation of being Earth's Most Customer-Centric company and Best Employer. In this role, you have an opportunity to influence both. Selling Partner Services (SPS), part of the broader Worldwide Amazon Stores team, focuses on enabling the long-term success of Amazon's selling partners by providing the most trusted shopping and selling experience and powerful solutions for accelerating their business growth.
Based in Seattle, WA, this Senior HRBP will support leaders in the Selling Partner Experience (SPX) organization. You will influence across business, tech, science, and operational teams, building partnerships with leaders, global peers, and the broader SPS People eXperience & Tech (PXT) team. The scope of this role includes cross-organization efforts related to global employee experiences, people practices, and additional initiatives across Selling Partner Services.
This role also benefits from a dedicated peer team of Leadership Development professionals, Employee Experience Research Scientists, Data Engineers, and Program Managers who, together with HR functional leaders, enable a strategy towards Earth's Best Employer.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies and initiatives, inspiring an indirect team of HRBPs, and contributing as a key member of the SPS PXT team.
You will help senior leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve team effectiveness, build leader capabilities, and drive meaningful improvements to the employee experience.
You will also partner closely with HR, Program, and Science teams to drive key initiatives in areas such as global organization health, talent management, and workforce planning.
A day in the life
Are any two days the same for an HR professional these days? Not quite. But there are a few things you can count on: an inclusive team, a safe space to learn and question, and partnership with leaders who care about people and their experiences, not just numbers and goal targets.
Each day will bring a mix of familiar challenges and new ones that require deeper collaboration, inspection, planning, and creativity. We do this as a team that wins together, having fun and staying curious along the way.
About the team
The Selling Partner Services People eXperience and Technology (PXT) team is comprised of a variety of roles and functions providing central support to SPS. We consider ourselves key thought partners on the SPS employee experience across the entire lifecycle. We drive improvements through partnerships across the SPS business and both central and WW Amazon Stores PXT, and aim to be leaders in providing employees the right support and solutions at the right time. We are driven by our mission: "We elevate our people-focused culture, drive meaningful business impact, and enable exceptional leadership by leveraging innovative and scalable people solutions."
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
