Job description

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Business Development Solutions Architect to join our corporate team in Upper Marlboro, MD. This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior level professional who combines strong technical expertise with federal business development, capture, and proposal experience.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in shaping and developing innovative technical solutions for federal government opportunities across DoD, DHS, Civilian, and Intelligence Community customers. The Business Development Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with capture managers, proposal teams, executives, partners, and customers to design compliant, competitive, and mission-focused solutions that align with customer requirements and strategic objectives.
This position requires exceptional communication skills, solutioning expertise, proposal development experience, and a strong understanding of federal acquisition processes and emerging federal IT trends.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of technical solutions for federal RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, Sources Sought notices, and white papers.
  • Partner with Business Development, Capture, and Proposal teams to shape opportunities, influence requirements, and position BTI competitively.
  • Translate customer mission needs into actionable technical architectures, implementation roadmaps, and solution strategies.
  • Develop innovative and compliant technical solutions across cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, AI/ML, digital transformation, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Conduct technical research, market analysis, and competitive assessments to support solution development and capture activities.
  • Support proposal development activities including:
    • Writing technical proposal volumes
    • Developing solution narratives
    • Creating technical diagrams and architecture illustrations
    • Supporting proposal color reviews
    • Ensuring proposal compliance and responsiveness
  • Present technical solutions and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, federal stakeholders, teaming partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, technology vendors, integrators, and strategic partners to build teaming relationships and solution capabilities.
  • Support pricing strategies and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) in collaboration with pricing and capture teams.
  • Participate in customer meetings, industry days, technical exchanges, and capture strategy sessions.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, federal IT modernization initiatives, acquisition trends, and agency-specific priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable solution accelerators, technical templates, and innovation initiatives.
  • Support large-scale federal pursuits, GWACs, IDIQs, and strategic contract vehicles.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Systems Engineering, Technical Business Development, Capture, or related technical leadership roles within the federal government contracting (GovCon) environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing technical solutions for federal agencies including DoD, DHS, Civilian Agencies, or the Intelligence Community.
  • Strong understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, FAR regulations, proposal processes, and capture management methodologies.
  • Experience supporting federal proposals including technical writing, solution development, compliance reviews, and proposal strategy.
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and customer-focused narratives.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT environments, cloud computing, cybersecurity, systems integration, and infrastructure modernization.
  • Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical, operational, and executive teams.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent pursuits in a fast-paced environment.
