Job description

A Research Intern position is available in the Department of Surgical Oncology. The Research Intern will assist Surgical Oncology faculty with multiple tasks. The duties will include conducting research, compiling data, implementing ideas, and assisting in writing manuscripts for publication as well as research grant proposals. The Research Intern will participate in the evaluation of collaborative research studies, analyzing and interpreting data. The intern will be required to present scientific results and findings at lab meetings and attend all related research conferences.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Learn the importance of gathering data and patient history. Learn how to determine diagnosis and identify a clear goal for communicating to patents. Learn how to review manuscripts for publication data abstraction/compilation. Observe patient's data and clinical history with surgical and research team. Observe treatment plans created for the patient and participate in virtual discussion on how to present info to patient and explain what to expect during treatment. Attend research meetings and conferences.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or master's degree
Degree must have been obtained recently (within 1 year)
Applicant must have previous research experience
