As a Program Manager, you will partner with cross-functional and international teams to deliver large-scale programs spanning capacity expansion, automation, new product introductions, and cost reduction initiatives across multiple regions.

What is your role?

The Program Manager is responsible for leading large, complex engineering programs with global scope and significant business impact. This role drives alignment across engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives. The position also plays a key role in program governance, executive communications, and decision-making processes that support business priorities and operational excellence.

Major responsibilities and tasks of the position:
  • Manage programs with global scope, coordinating teams, stakeholders, and execution activities across the United States, Mexico, China, and Poland; provide program leadership across a broad portfolio of strategic initiatives, including Automation, New Product Introduction, and Cost Reduction projects.
  • Translate business and engineering opportunities and initiatives into clear program strategies, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and execution plans to drive alignment across engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams
  • Lead efforts to secure necessary capital funds to execute large scale programs through effective use of Corning capital management tools, methods, and processes
  • Prepare executive-level communications on program strategies, risks, tradeoffs, and key decision needs to the Division Executive Leadership Team, including recommendations that clearly outline options, business impacts, execution risks, and proposed paths forward for critical decisions
  • Establish strong program governance - including milestone reviews, decision forums, risk management, action tracking, scope change management, program performance metrics, and stakeholder communication to promote standard program management best practices and methods, and drives continuous improvement across the portfolio
  • Lead large, high-impact engineering programs and teams (10 members or more) with primary initial focus on Capacity Expansion initiatives
What do you need to have?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management, project management, engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional and cross-regional programs with significant business impact.
  • Experience managing capital projects exceeding $10M and driving execution in complex manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting or leading Automation, New Product Introduction (NPI), Cost Reduction, or Capacity Expansion initiatives.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities, including risk management, governance, stakeholder alignment, and execution planning.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage technical teams, site leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization and influence without direct authority.
  • Fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with early-stage innovation and New Product Introduction (NPI) methodologies.
  • Experience leading global engineering or manufacturing transformation programs.
  • Strong financial and capital management experience related to large-scale engineering projects.
