St. Edward Central Catholic High School seeks a dynamic and faith-filled Mathematics/Science Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will foster a rigorous, engaging learning environment rooted in Catholic values while developing students’ analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and intellectual curiosity.

Depending on the candidate’s background, this position may include a split assignment in the Science Department (e.g., Physics or STEM-related coursework) and/or in the Business Department (e.g., Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Principles, or related courses).


The Mathematics Teacher supports the mission of St. Edward CCHS by integrating faith, reason, and moral development into instruction and contributing to a vibrant Catholic school community.

• Supports Mission and Catholic Identity (Domain I) by witnessing Gospel values and fostering spiritual formation.

• Promotes Academic Excellence (Domain II) through rigorous curriculum, data-informed instruction, and preparation for Advanced Placement coursework.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with school and state standards.

• Teach courses in mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Calculus, etc.) and teach courses in Science or Business based on qualifications.

• Prepare students for advanced coursework, including Advanced Placement (AP) level classes where applicable.

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.

• Develop and administer meaningful assessments and provide timely feedback.

• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.

• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school activities and professional development.

• Communicate regularly with parents and administration.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field.

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or eligibility.

• Prior high school teaching experience preferred.
