Job Title: Manager, Business Intelligence

OVERVIEW/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manager, Business Intelligence is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of critical business intelligence initiatives and projects that will contribute to strategic decision-making across the organization. Identifies, researches and resolves complex technical problems. Ensures that the use of business intelligence application enhances business decision making capabilities. The Manager, Business Intelligence is responsible for managing analysts' staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, hiring and training new analysts and ensuring staff productivity remains high. Ensures that projects/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.

Detail-oriented, strong communicator, and technically capable with a desire to discover and deliver data-driven business insights. This role is critical to fuel data-driven culture and to help make informed business decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical, team leadership and management supporting to the Business intelligence team.
  • Responsible for all tactical, operational, and technical responsibilities associated with the following BI and BI-related functional areas
  • Data preparation (sourcing, acquisition, integration)
  • Data warehousing
  • BI governance including data dictionary, report integrity, data quality and data audits
  • Reporting, analytics, data exploration
  • Information delivery (portals, dashboards)
  • Advanced / predictive analytics
  • work with large data sets - structured/unstructured
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement solutions that meet their needs, while making sure the priorities for the team are properly aligned to business needs.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and report findings and make recommendations to company leadership.
  • Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity; inspires others to embrace these conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders including executive audiences.
  • Instill best practices and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plays a critical role in the team development and accountability.
  • Responsible for hiring, monthly documented coaching / check in's, annual performance feedback and documentation, along with building and measuring goals with each partner.
  • Responsible for Day-to-day operations management of the department, displaying initiative and creative thinking to attain business objectives while streamlining processes as applicable.
  • Empower members of the team to grow their skillset and advance their career goals.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations affecting Company.
  2. Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company.
  3. Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as required.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree:BS/MSPreferred major/area of study: Computer Science, Mathematics,Analytics or Data Driven Discipline
  • Number of years of supervisory/management experience:5 to 10 Years
  • Minimum of 5yr experience managing Business Intelligence Analysts, and/or Business Analysts
  • Proven experience leading reporting and analytics teams in an enterprise environment
  • High proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and their applications, multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, Snowflake, denormalized models, handling "slowly changing" dimensions/attributes.
  • Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment and work with both technical and business personnel.
  • Hands on experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Hands on Experience with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, PowerShell. .NET, JSON, C#
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS computing platforms.
  • Knowledge of Modelling Languages(R, Python)a plus
  • Good understanding of data security and privacy technologies
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric concepts and components (Lakehouse, pipelines, semantic models), with prior experience in modern analytics platforms
  • Experience supporting or participating in analytics platform modernization initiatives
  • Snowflake experience preferred / nice-to-have
  • Experience partnering with business, analytics, and IT stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality

  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level communication

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000-140,000 USD with a bonus target of up to 10% of the base salary. This range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what we would reasonably expect to pay for this position. We reserve the right to modify this range in the future as organizational and market conditions dictate.
