Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for transforming business data into insights. Using data analytics, visualization, and modeling, the BI Developer will mine, aggregate, organize, and derive available data to identify opportunities to improve business performance. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA headquarters and report to the BI Manager. This position is structured within IT under the Vice President of Applications.

This position will facilitate the implementation of business intelligence processes, strategies, and procedures. This position will require working with and translating business requirements to a data engineer for data curation.

The position will be located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of a secure framework for how data, reports, dashboards, and custom apps are designed and maintained.
  • Design, build, and maintain hierarchies, models, and complex financial reports in support of monthly reporting, budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and workflows using an agile methodology utilizing Microsoft Power BI.
  • Assist in testing, governance, data quality, training, and documentation efforts.
  • Actively engage in business stakeholder requirement workshops to understand, interpret, and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Maintain and update existing reports and dashboards to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Update and create tasks in Jira for project tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field of study.
  • 5+ years in business intelligence development and data analytics.
  • Experience in cloud data storage solutions and ingestion from a Data Lake.
  • Proficient in star-schema or snowflake data modeling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to translate technical details to business stakeholders.
  • Experience in coding languages primarily Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, and Power Automate.
  • Familiarity with ingestion from Azure Data Lake.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Strong Excel skills including visual basic, Power Query, pivot tables, pivot charts, and advanced formulas.
