Job description

About the Company

Fitch Irick Corporation, based in Charlotte, NC, has over 30 years of experience in the affordable housing development and property management industry. Fitch Irick currently controls and manages 13,000+ units throughout the Southeast with the goal to triple our portfolio at a national level.

We make a positive difference in the world one resident at a time by utilizing local, state, and federal tax-advantaged programs to enhance communities via the acquisition, development, and management of high-quality affordable housing.

If you are looking for a place where you can combine your business passion with purpose, look no further.

About the Role

Fitch Irick Corporation is seeking a Business Intelligence & Data Analyst to help strengthen how data supports decision-making across our growing affordable housing organization.

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role will work at the intersection of data, technology, and business operations. The analyst will help build dashboards, automate reporting, and evaluate practical uses of AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, documentation, analysis, and decision support.

The position will also help strengthen the data foundation behind the company’s reporting and long-range planning by improving the consistency, reliability, and usability of financial and operational information as Fitch Irick expands its data lake and enterprise reporting capabilities.

The ideal candidate is technically curious, financially minded, and comfortable translating complex or fragmented information into reliable, practical insights. This person should enjoy learning new tools, applying automation and AI to real business problems, and building solutions that are accurate, scalable, and easy for business users to understand.

Why This Role Matters

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role with visibility across the organization. Your work will improve how leaders use data, automation, and AI-enabled tools to evaluate performance, identify trends, and plan for growth.

You will not just build dashboards. You will help shape how Fitch Irick organizes and leverages data as a strategic asset, applies emerging technology responsibly, and gives senior leadership stronger tools for informed decision-making.

What You Will Do

Business Intelligence, AI Enablement, and Reporting Automation

• Design, build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using AI and Power BI.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs, define meaningful metrics, and translate business questions into practical analytical solutions.

• Identify opportunities to use AI-enabled tools, automation, and improved workflows to reduce manual work, improve documentation, and support business decision-making.

• Help test and implement responsible AI use cases related to reporting, data review, model auditing, documentation, and workflow efficiency.

• Use SQL, Power Query, DAX, database connections, and other tools to extract, transform, validate, and present data.

• Convert manual, recurring, and legacy reporting processes into more automated and scalable solutions.

• Monitor data refreshes, investigate reporting issues, validate outputs, and maintain clear documentation for dashboards, datasets, and calculations.

Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning

• Support recurring forecasts, management reporting, long-range planning, and other analytical projects.

• Gather, organize, and validate information used in the company's long-range strategy model, and build or maintain selected supporting schedules based on experience and business need.

• Aggregate approved property budgets and other financial or operational projections into enterprise reporting and planning models using established processes.

• Audit Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and other analytical models for formula accuracy, data integrity, consistency, and scalability.

• Research financial and operational variances and prepare initial analysis for review.

• Complete ad hoc financial, operational, and data analysis as business needs arise.

Data Quality, Governance, and Systems Support

• Help standardize financial and operational data across the company to support reliable reporting and analysis.

• Maintain account, entity, property, and metric mappings, source inventories, and process documentation.

• Reconcile key datasets and reporting outputs to Yardi, the general ledger, financial models, operational reports, and other established sources.

• Identify incomplete, duplicated, inconsistent, or unreliable information and work with internal stakeholders to resolve the underlying issues.

• Support the development of governed datasets for use in Power BI, AI, Excel, financial models, and management reporting.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Accounting, or a related field.

• 2 - 5 years of experience in business intelligence, financial planning and analysis, data analytics, accounting analytics, or a related role.

• Experience developing reports, dashboards, or data models with AI, Power BI, with working knowledge of DAX and relational data-modeling concepts.

• Practical experience applying AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, reporting, documentation, workflow efficiency, or problem-solving.

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, data reconciliation, and model development.

• Experience using Power Query to combine and transform information from multiple sources.

• Working SQL skills, including the ability to query, join, filter, transform, and validate datasets.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

• Ability to understand financial and operational relationships, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Yardi Voyager or another real estate accounting or property management platform.

• Experience in affordable housing, multifamily housing, real estate development, property management, or a related industry.

• Experience with Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, AI–assisted analytics tools, prompt development, or other emerging technologies used to improve business processes.

• Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, cloud-based reporting environments, or Azure-based tools.

• Experience building or auditing financial and operational models.

• Familiarity with APIs, Power Automate, Python, row-level security, or other data and automation tools.
