Job description

We are seeking a data-driven and collaborative Business Insights professional to support category and client growth through actionable analytics and strategic storytelling. In this role, you will partner closely with business managers and clients to develop and deliver impactful insights, leveraging syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen), POS, and shopper information. You will build and maintain business review presentations, support category management initiatives, and contribute to customer-facing strategies that drive performance.

This is a Hybrid 1 position.  You will be required to work from our Mississauga office 3 days a week.

The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of experience in analytics, sales, or marketing, along with strong technical proficiency and communication skills. This role requires the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations, support cross-functional teams, and engage with key stakeholders to influence business outcomes.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Degree Bachelor of Science Degree

Experience Requirement:

  • Must have a college degree and 3-5 years experience in marketing, sales and/or other industry related functions.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Canadian CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry
  • 3+ years of people management experience

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Must have prior work experience in data analysis and systems and demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the technology involved to operate and maintain these systems.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Systems Knowledge:

  • Advanced proficiency in Nielsen (NIQ) Discover data and tools
  • Experience working with multiple POS data sources, including Circana, LDIA (LCL), Retail Link, Dunnhumby, and other retailer-specific platforms
    Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder and category/shopper analytics tools
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proven ability to present to internal stakeholders and external clients/customers
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and collaborative approach

Some Essential Functions of this Position:

  • Establish and maintain a partnership with business managers and clients in the development of strategic plans for business insights within the market, hub, client, or customer team.
  • Work as integral part of assigned team assisting business managers and/or space technologists in presenting business insights reviews to customers.
  • Analyze and create base business insights presentations for assigned clients represented in the market, hub, client or customer team.
  • Maintain and update all syndicated scanning databases needed in the analysis for customer, client and/or market reviews.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with the category managers and or key customer personnel in the market, hub, client or customer team and assist them in their category management process.
  • Coordinate efforts with the local branch category analysts to manage the completion of all base presentations in order to meet the time frames and needs of each local office within the market, hub, client or customer team.
  • Create all major business insights presentations including customer, account and client business reviews, new item introductions, category reviews, new client reviews, etc. for use within the market, hub, client or customer team.
  • Participate with business managers and clients in the design, implementation and evaluation of local co-marketing events where applicable.
  • Integrate demographic and household panel information into all reviews and/or presentations where applicable.
  • Utilize and understand IRI and ACNielsen syndicated scanning data, customer point-of-sale and loyalty data and systems used to generate the information for category reviews.
  • Routinely visit customers in the market with business managers. Assist in conducting store audits to view merchandising and inventory requirements in assigned categories.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
