The Director, Business Development is responsible for driving top-line revenue growth while maintaining a strong focus on profitability, strategic fit, and long-term customer diversification. This role plays a critical part in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for our AGILE Product Development medical device Design and Development teams as well as finished device manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and closing new AGILE Product Development (APD) and finished device manufacturing opportunities.
  • Engage early with customers (R&D, engineering, and procurement teams) to position Resonetics as a development and manufacturing partner from concept through commercialization.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline focused on early-stage product development programs with long-term production potential.
  • Develop and execute territory-specific strategies aligned with Resonetics APD growth objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development engineering, process development, and operations teams to scope and shape customer solutions.
  • Lead the development of detailed proposals and estimates, incorporating design, development, prototyping, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Present solutions to customers, clearly articulating value around speed-to-market, technical differentiation, scalability, and risk mitigation.
  • Guide customers through trade-offs in design, cost, manufacturability, and timeline to enable informed decision-making.
  • Foster strong, trust-based relationships with customers, positioning Resonetics as a long-term innovation partner.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide visibility into pipeline health, conversion timelines, and revenue potential.
  • Represent Resonetics at industry events, conferences, and customer sites to expand brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams across Business Development, Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Operations to ensure seamless execution from concept to commercialization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of business development or outside sales experience within the contract medical device manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated success selling product development, NPI, and/or manufacturing services
  • Strong understanding of the medical device product lifecycle, including design, development, prototyping, and scale-up
  • Experience working with complex catheters, subassemblies, or minimally invasive device technologies
  • Experience developing proposals and estimates for development and manufacturing programs
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate customer needs into integrated development and manufacturing solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities across different stages of development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and project planning software
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with laser processing or advanced manufacturing technologies in medical devices
  • Existing relationships with R&D and engineering teams within key medical device companies
  • Experience selling into early-stage or innovation-focused teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-phase sales cycles

Compensation
  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The anticipated total copmensation range for this role is $210,000.00 to $240,000.00.
  • Resonetics is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
