BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – INDUSTRIAL / COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

Greater Toronto Area, ON
$100,000 – $140,000 Base + Performance Incentive | Full-Time

Our client, an established General Contractor and Construction Management firm, is looking for an experienced Business Development professional to help grow its presence across the industrial and commercial construction sectors.

The successful candidate will have an established understanding of the GTA construction market and will be comfortable developing relationships with owners, developers, consultants, architects and other key decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new construction opportunities across the industrial and commercial sectors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, owners, consultants, architects and corporate clients
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective projects and clients
  • Track market activity, upcoming developments and potential construction opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions and client meetings
  • Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction and operations teams on potential opportunities
  • Assist with proposals, presentations, RFQs and RFP submissions
  • Maintain regular contact with existing clients and identify opportunities for repeat business
  • Develop strategic relationships that support long-term company growth
  • Provide market intelligence and business-development reporting to senior management

Qualifications

  • Approximately 5+ years of Business Development, Sales or Client Development experience
  • Construction, development, real estate or related industry experience strongly preferred
  • Existing relationships within the GTA industrial and/or commercial construction market are highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of how General Contractors pursue and secure construction work
  • Proven relationship-building and networking abilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop opportunities independently
