Reporting to the Senior Director, R&D, the R&D Sr Sustaining Program Manager is responsible for collecting, clarifying, prioritizing, and governing Sustaining Engineering product requests and translating them into executable project plans that maximize customer and business value. This role leads cross-functional teams to deliver sustaining initiatives that improve product quality, reliability, compliance, manufacturability, supply continuity, and lifecycle performance.
In addition to driving project execution, this role serves as a steward of the sustaining product portfolio by establishing portfolio priorities, monitoring product health, managing lifecycle and obsolescence risks, and developing long-term sustaining strategies that protect revenue and ensure business continuity. The role drives execution, aligns stakeholders, manages risks and dependencies, and ensures delivery of customer-focused solutions that meet scope, quality, cost, and timeline objectives. This Program Management leader fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus while supporting successful business outcomes.
This position is part of the R&D team located in Loveland, Colorado, and will be on-site.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Lead Sustaining Portfolio Strategy and Governance by collecting, clarifying, prioritizing, and governing sustaining initiatives to maximize customer value, business outcomes, product health, and revenue protection
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment and Influence across R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Product Management, and Commercial teams to establish priorities, secure resources, resolve conflicts, and balance competing business needs
  • Lead Sustaining Program Execution by developing project plans, defining scope and success criteria, managing risks and dependencies, and delivering sustaining initiatives on time and within scope, quality, and cost objectives
  • Own Product Lifecycle and Obsolescence Management by proactively identifying and mitigating component, supplier, technology, and platform risks to ensure long-term product viability and customer supportability
  • Ensure Business and Manufacturing Continuity by leading response and mitigation efforts for critical quality, supply, product, or production issues that could impact customers, manufacturing operations, or revenue
  • Monitor and Improve Product Health through the use of quality, reliability, supply risk, manufacturability, customer feedback, and technical debt metrics to inform priorities and drive continuous improvement
  • Develop Long-Term Sustaining Strategies and Roadmaps that improve product performance, reduce technical debt, address lifecycle risks, and align sustaining investments with business objectives
  • Drive Stakeholder Communication and Organizational Learning through transparent reporting, escalation management, data-driven recommendations, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team and portfolio effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience leading product lifecycle, obsolescence management, or sustaining engineering portfolios
  • Experience supporting manufacturing continuity, supply chain risk mitigation, and business continuity planning
  • Demonstrated ability to develop portfolio-level strategies, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks
  • Experience with regulated products, change management, and lifecycle management processes
  • Experience applying Visual Project Management frameworks
  • PMP certification or advanced technical/business degree

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
