Here's how a Business Systems Analyst for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ contributes to our team:

This role is being offered as a 12-month contract.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in validation of systems and user needs, assists in performing gap analysis, documents requirements, and prepares simple functional specifications and wireframes/mockups.
  • Assists with and troubleshoots simple service requests and incidents.
  • Participates in quality assurance, compliance validation and test plans.
  • Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships. Ensures effective communication.
  • Presents software demonstrations with limited scope.
  • Assists with documentation of as-built solutions.
  • Assists with the management and organization of product backlog for custom developed products.
  • Assists in the collection and triaging of product feedback
  • Participates in subject matter expert workshops or meetings.
  • Validates as-built functionality.
  • Prepares necessary data and training material and conducts training.
  • Participates in pilots and rollouts and reporting/follow-up activities.
  • Assists with market scans and analysis to evaluate potential solutions.
  • Furthers basic understanding of relevant business processes, challenges, and how underlying application supports those.
  • Assists with creation and maintenance of user-facing documentation.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Co-op or relevant experience preferred.
  • Effective visual, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to think logically and analytically, to interpret and solve problems with attention to detail.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work within deadlines and constraints.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with interested parties at all levels and areas of the organization.
  • Possesses business acumen and an understanding of how to incorporate
  • With coaching, independently conduct and facilitate effective meetings and give presentations in support of various projects and deliverables.
  • Theoretical knowledge of software implementations, software development lifecycle methodologies, and business process reengineering.
  • Familiarity with basic UX principles and design thinking concepts.
  • Theoretical knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar work tracking system to manage development work tasks.
  • Experience creating end-user documentation.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience creating end-user documentation.
