Caterpillar Inc. seeks Data Specialist at its facility located at 100 Sanford Street, East Peoria, IL 61611. Employ data analytics to assess technical performance and recommend system enhancements. Analyze customer requirements, ensuring solutions conform to models while being implementable and maintainable. Identify data inaccuracies within large datasets of diverse formats. Research, design, and document data specifications throughout the production lifecycle. Demonstrate proficiency in software development, web technologies, SQL, and other data programming languages. Explain the importance of Value Realization milestones for long-term projects and measure and attain post-project implementation value. Identify process changes or business value integration in change initiative plans and activities. Communicate connections between change initiatives and associated goals and cases. Describe agile process, including checkpoints and deliverables. Apply agile development methodology, interpreting metrics used to measure progress and effectiveness. Define key selection and qualifying criteria for projects suitable for agile development. Utilize major tools and techniques associated with specific methodologies. Work with cloud service models, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Software as a Service (SaaS). Follow established procedures to define client requirements for cloud services. Implement cloud service models, including IaaS, SaaS, or Serverless computing. Execute tasks under supervision to increase capacity or add capabilities through cloud computing. Document and resolve basic cloud security issues. Research relationships between business data sets and establish structured data relationships. Adhere to organization database design policies, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques. Test database effectiveness before release for business use. Verify data accuracy and integrity in warehouse systems. Load data into the warehouse regularly. Derive business or technical insights from raw data. Acquire large volumes of data from different sources and systems. Address technical and administrative challenges encountered during the ETL process. Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of information management software. Develop backup, recovery, and archival practices. Analyze issues and requirements for managing information resources. Design value chain that achieves customer availability requirements and internal financial commitments for Drivetrain components manufactured globally. Work with a global network of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Resources, and IT professionals to solve complex problems and drive business solutions. Develop, deploy, and maintain digital tools designed to address business problems. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Analytics or a related field and 2.5 years of experience as a Data Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or related occupation in data analytics. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process, and/or developing databases through the ETL process in Snowflake and Python; (2) Designing, deploying and implementing cloud computing solutions which connect supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing data models; (3) Operations, supply chain, and purchasing to build inventory models; (4) PowerPoint, PowerBi, and Excel to make data driven business proposals; (5) Snowflake data base architecture development and access management; (6) 1 year of experience with Operations, Supply Chain, or Purchasing and (7) 2.5 years of experience working with drivetrain components, BOM (Bill of Materials) structures, and mechanical engineering drawings.
