Job description

Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Vienna, VA
Type: Contract, long term expected
Compensation: Negotiable
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite and  2 days remote
Hours: 40 hours a week 
Security Clearance: No clearance required, but there will be a background check to include criminal, credit and fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Manage project tasks, schedules, and deliverables under the guidance of Enterprise Portfolio Value Managers
  • Apply basic project management principles to support planning, execution, and stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities, track progress, and assist in resolving project issues
  • Contribute to documentation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
  • Plan and execute cross-functional projects aligning with business goals and operational priorities
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans for successful delivery
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Apply project management tools and templates for consistent execution and reporting
  • Identify and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies to senior project leaders
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for timely project delivery
  • Prepare project documentation, dashboards, and updates for stakeholder communication
  • Ensure adherence to policies, compliance, and governance standards
  • Participate in issue resolution and support change management activities
  • Guide junior team members and contribute to project knowledge sharing
  • Support adoption of project management methodologies and practices
  • Collaborate with enabling functions for business readiness and operational alignment
  • Participate in initiative planning and project coordination efforts
  • Represent project management in team planning and delivery discussions
  • Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience supporting business projects or workstreams
  • Proficient in managing project schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder communications with increasing autonomy
  • Knowledge of project planning, budgeting, and risk management practices across business functions
  • Experience with coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking progress, and resolving project issues
  • Advanced knowledge of project documentation, reporting, and change management processes
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) to support project execution and visibility
  • Working knowledge of stakeholder engagement, issue escalation, and project governance practices
  • Basic skill in identifying project risks and contributing to mitigation planning and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (desired)
  • Professional Certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, or Lean/Agile) (desired)
  • Experience managing vendors or third-party contributors (preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira) preferred
