About This Role

Bush Hill Day School is a warm, learn through play preschool program for children ages 2-5. We are looking for a nurturing and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our team. With small class sizes, a beautiful outdoor playground, and a close-knit, supportive community, this is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and values a collaborative environment.


As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll work closely with a Lead Teacher to create a positive, caring, and well-managed classroom environment where children feel safe, curious, and confident. Our program emphasizes hands-on learning, social-emotional development, and plenty of playground time!


This part-time position runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with flexible scheduling to work 3 or 5 days per week. Availability to work until 2:00 PM on select days is preferred.

  • Support the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and routines
  • Help create a positive, caring, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Engage with children through play, conversation, and guided activities
  • Assist with transitions, snack/lunch, and outdoor time
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with staff and families
