Job description

Vac-Tech, a Busch Vacuum Solutions company, is a leading re-manufacturer of vacuum pumps and gate valves, for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.
Vac-Tech has an immediate direct-hire opportunity open for a Service Technician 2 at our service center in Richardson, Texas! The work schedule is M-F 7am - 3:30pm shift. The targeted compensation range for this position is $20-22 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
A Service Technician 2 is responsible for the disassembly of industrial equipment in our vacuum pump remanufacturing process.

Job Responsibilities
  • Remove pumps from the frame and disassemble pump components minimizing any damage to components during disassembly per the prescribed timeframe.
  • Clean industrial pumps using cold dip parts, cleaner, hot dip parts cleaner, high-pressure parts washer, bead blaster, and sandblaster.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment as part of the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.
  • Safely and productively operate material handling equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining 5S and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste as directed by Management.
  • Maintain measurable and productive output as defined by production goals.
  • Follow the provided training and procedures outlined in the written operating procedures of our internal proprietary system.
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures while reporting all unsafe activities and concerns to the supervisor, safety officer, or human resources.

Required Experience
  • 1+ year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment: Required
  • Education: High School graduate or General Education Degree- Required
  • Computer skills: Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software- Required

  • Work with a high level of initiative, be self-motivated, and possess professional maturity
  • Must be detail, goal, and safety-oriented
  • Must be organized and maintain a clean and orderly workspace
  • Must possess a positive attitude, be dependable, and be trustworthy
  • Work independently or as a team, as necessary, to fulfill department and Busch goals and objectives
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English

Job Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, and misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must pass respirator fit test (annual retesting required)
    • Must be willing to maintain facial hair to a minimum for respirator fitment
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE

Physical Requirements
  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 10lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 100lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
