Job description

We are seeking a responsible and dedicated School Bus Driver to join our team in Aventura, Miami. This role involves safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and experience working with children. Bilingual candidates and those with a background in childcare or senior care are encouraged to apply. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the community while maintaining a professional and caring demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate school buses and other commercial vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
  • Transport students to designated locations on scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures
  • Maintain a safe environment for students during transit, demonstrating excellent behavior management skills
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues to coordinate schedules and address concerns
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness
  • Assist students with boarding and disembarking, providing support for children with special needs or disabilities (paratransit)
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and student attendance as required
  • Uphold professionalism in appearance and conduct at all times during duty hours

Experience

  • Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving, preferably with school bus driving or paratransit services
  • S (school bus) and P (passenger) endorsements .
  • Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
  • Prior experience demonstrating excellent customer service skills and behavior management techniques
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety procedures, and child safety protocols is essential
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for operating school buses; clean driving record required
