Job Announcement

Job Description:

Transporting Head Start children to/from Head Start facility and for Head Start related events. Must have a current Commercial Drivers License or willing to obtain certification. Must participate in Head Start bus training. Must communicate with parents and staff effectively.

Qualifications:

Valid Commercial Drivers License and clean driving record, Valid Commercial Driver Medical Examiners Certificate, Knowledge of school bus safety and state motor vehicle/traffic laws or receiving training upon hire, No convictions of any crimes involving child abuse/neglect, Able to perform and/or arrange routine maintenance for the bus, Achieve a CDA credential within 2 years of hire. Experience in Early Childhood Education/child development, strong team player and leadership skills

High School Diploma or GED, At least 18 years old, Physically and mentally capable of working with young children and their families, Have not been convicted of any crimes involving child neglect or abuse, Current CPR and First Aid Certification, One year of experience working with groups of children, Willing to be trained in the field of early childhood development, including workshops and training provided by APIA's Head Start Program and other agencies and organizations. Engage in appropriate topical reading and individual work with an advisor. The successful candidate will be expected to receive a CDA credential within 1 year of employment.

Minimum:

  3. Knowledge of school bus safety and state motor vehicle/traffic laws or receiving training upon hire
