DESCRIPTION
Description Kona Crew Driver:
General Summary of Responsibilities: Kona Ice is the premier mobile shaved ice company in the country. A Kona Krew driver will be responsible for giving outstanding customer service. They will drive/operate a one-of-a- Kona Ice unit and provide a memorable experience, by spreading fun, and delivering smiles while giving back to our community. Kona Krew drivers stock trucks, drive to events, interact with event coordinators, serve Kona Ice, and return to our base. They keep our trucks clean inside and out because we hold to the highest standards. The job will change daily. Some days bring festivals, or sporting events. Other days you may visit several after-school programs and a birthday party or even a wedding reception. You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
The position is seasonal with part-time spots available: typically April-October. Most drivers work between 15 & 35 hours per week based on their availability. We are looking for candidates that are available for 2 shifts or more per week on a consistent basis.

Essential Duties of the Position: (The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks as necessary.)
  • Greeting & serving customers with consistent positivity, enthusiasm & a smile while taking orders with speed & accuracy.
  • Safe and appropriate driving of a Kona Ice truck to and from events from the base of operation.
  • Closely following sanitation & food safety procedures.
  • Complete beginning & end-of-shift prepping, stocking, cleaning of truck and base of operation, and event tracking duties.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License & minimum of 2 years of experience driving with a good driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation to base of operation to pick up Kona truck for events.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for full shift.
  • Can work independently and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Have a positive attitude & warm, outgoing personality.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, punctual, honest, trustworthy & dependable.
  • Work at a quick pace, while multi-tasking.
  • Can communicate effectively with people of all ages.
  • Ability to perform quick, simple math calculations.
  • Good attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Are available to work flexible schedule-including days, nights, weekends, & some holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with children a plus.
  • Experience with monetary transactions.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Food Service/Concessions experience.
  • Experience driving a bus and/or large-oversized vehicle.

Education, Experience, and Certification/License Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED

Financial Responsibility: As a member of the Kona Ice community, this position is expected to be fiscally responsible in all financial transactions with customers. This position is also responsible to follow the policies governing the use of company-owned equipment including the ability to handle cash, make change accurately & operate Square point of sale for card payments.
