Job description


Responsible for :
  • Ensure the attainment of Victory Housing's precedence over all decisions and actions.
  • Provide scheduled transportation to seniors located at the assigned VHI assisted living communities.
  • Provide appropriate assistance as seniors enter and exit the bus as needed. Utilize handicap lift as required.
  • Support and assist residents during outings as needed.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with all staff members.
  • Report resident behavior or physical assistance needed by residents to the appropriate director. The identification of resident status changes and communication to management is essential to the care of residents.
  • Responsible for assuring that fuel levels are appropriate, and that the vehicle is maintained in a responsible and safe manner. All inspections, routine maintenance and repairs are the responsibility of the driver.
  • Clean the bus inside and out. All trash is to be emptied, and surfaces sanitized following the completion of each trip. The bus must be vacuumed monthly or more frequently as needed and brought to car wash every two (2) weeks.
  • Maintain the bus. This includes getting the bus serviced as needed at the VHI approved repair shop. Submit all maintenance and repair work documentation to the Director of Assisted Living Operations for the master file.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in the bus to include current registration and insurance card.
  • Report incidents/accidents immediately to Community Executive and Director of Assisted Living Operations.
  • Be prepared to manage emergencies as they arise during transportation runs. Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
  • Participate in resident activities when appropriate.
  • Scheduled transportation may be necessary on occasion during weekends and holidays.
  • Complete other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the Community Executive Directors or Director of Assisted Living Operations.
Job Requirements :
  • Must have a current driver's license in the state of Maryland.
  • Driver's license must be in good standing and free of any current or past violations regarding DWI or reckless driving. All drivers must be approved by Catholic Mutual to ensure insurance coverage.
  • Must have no current or history of civil or criminal convictions including misdemeanors.
  • Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and tact in dealing with others.
  • Must be current on all vaccinations including COVID- 19 and receive CDC recommended booster doses.



The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour based on skills and experience. This position is non-exempt and overtime eligible.
