Join our team as a School Bus Driver and play a critical role in providing safe, reliable transportation for students. This position involves operating a school bus on assigned routes, supporting student safety, and maintaining a positive and professional environment. Drivers transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate school buses and authorized vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Apply defensive driving techniques with a strong focus on safety
  • Follow traffic laws and school transportation regulations; navigate Monmouth & Ocean County areas
  • Transport students on scheduled routes with timely arrivals and departures
  • Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections (mechanical, safety equipment, cleanliness)
  • Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs
  • Maintain a calm, friendly demeanor while managing student behavior
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and emergency responders
  • Complete logs, reports, and safety documentation accurately and on time


Skills:

  • Valid CDL Class B license with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements preferred
  • Strong English communication skills; bilingual is a plus
  • Knowledge of driving safety protocols, basic vehicle maintenance, and child behavior management
  • Ability to work with children with patience, empathy, and strong childcare skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections
