Job Summary
School Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related activities. Drivers pick up and drop off students at designated stops such as homes or street corners, ensuring safety and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport students while following all traffic laws and school district regulations.
  • Operate the bus in various weather and traffic conditions with courtesy and caution.
  • Communicate bus safety and behavior expectations to students and address issues as needed.
  • Interact with parents and school staff to support positive student behavior.
  • Assist students with boarding, including those needing wheelchair or adaptive support.
  • Conduct daily bus inspections and perform basic maintenance (fuel, fluids, tire checks, cleaning).
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports.
  • Operate a two-way radio and follow assigned routes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • CDL Class A or B, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Endorsements: Passenger (P) and School Bus (S).
  • Ability to pass a DOT medical exam and drug/alcohol testing.
