Job description

Position Overview
International Motors' Used Truck Reconditioning Center is seeking a motivated Repair Technician Associate to join our expanding team. In this hands-on role, you will perform preventative maintenance (PM), diagnostics, and repair work on pre-owned Class 8 and light- to medium-duty trucks being prepared for resale across our nationwide network of 15 Used Truck Centers.
You will work on a wide range of critical vehicle systems-including air brakes, HVAC, cooling systems, electrical components, and onboard diagnostics-ensuring each unit meets strict safety, quality, and performance standards.
This position is ideal for candidates with developing experience in diesel, truck, or automotive repair who are eager to grow their technical skills. Individuals with exposure to Class 8 diagnostics, engine rebuilding, and dealer management systems will find this role especially rewarding. In addition, you will support Certified Pre-Owned inspections and reconditioning efforts, contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality vehicles and an exceptional customer experience.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and within established timelines
  • Perform efficient, high-quality repairs on Class 8 and light- to medium-duty trucks
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving air brake systems, HVAC, cooling systems, electrical components, and onboard diagnostics
  • Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) services and thorough safety inspections
  • Replace and repair body components; assist in reconditioning units to meet Certified Pre-Owned standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality workmanship aligned with company standards and customer satisfaction goals

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree and no experience

OR
  • At least 1 year of technical truck/automotive experience

Additional Requirements
  • Must have valid CDL license
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams), including spreadsheet management and data organization
  • Hands-on experience with engine teardown, rebuild, and performance troubleshooting
  • In-depth knowledge of Class 8 and light/medium-duty truck diagnostics, including onboard computer and electronic systems
  • Familiarity with 49 CFR DOT regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and automated work order platforms for service tracking and workflow efficiency
