Mustang Transportation is growing fast and keeping our fleet in top shape is critical to our success. To do that we are building an all-new shop for this team! We are looking for a skilled, dependable Fleet Maintenance Technician / Bus Mechanic who takes pride in quality work and understands the importance of keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready.If you are someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and being part of a team that values safety, accountability, and professionalism, we want to hear from you.


What You'll Do

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair buses, motor coaches, and support vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance issues quickly and accurately.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter cleanings and changes, fluid services, brake inspections, tire maintenance, and scheduled servicing.
  • Complete repairs on diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Coordinate with operations personnel to ensure vehicles are available and road-ready.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs when required.


What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with diesel engines, buses, commercial vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of repairs from diagnosis to completion.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software, electronic troubleshooting tools, and modern vehicle systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with drivers, dispatchers, and management.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt as our company continues to grow.
  • Available to be on call when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL Class B or higher with air brake, and passenger endorsements.
  • Previous bus, motor coach, school bus, or commercial fleet experience.
  • ASE certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
