Position Overview

The Bulk Material Driver is responsible for the safe, proper, and professional loading, transporting, and unloading of raw materials and concrete products from vendor locations to plant locations. The Bulk Material Driver must be flexible to adjusting daily start and/or finishing times to meet the needs of our demands.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Safely and efficiently drive and operate a road tractor while pulling a cement taker.
  • Unload cement or fly ash at plants per instructions of plant personnel, while monitoring discharge pressure to ensure proper flow of material into silos.
  • Follow order and delivery instructions received from supervisor regarding delivery address and instructions.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance of the truck and trailer including but not limited to:
  • Check and maintain all fluid levels as described by the equipment manufacturer including water, oil, transmission, and hydraulic fluids.
  • Check and maintain tire pressure as described by the equipment manufacturer
  • Grease all hubs and other components as described by the equipment manufacturer
  • Keep the truck and trailer clean both inside and outside

Other Requirements:

  • Must be flexible to daily start and/or finish times
  • Must be able to work both inside and outside, in the heat and cold, and around moving equipment
  • Must be able to climb a 10โ€™ ladder and open and close a 25 lb tanker lid as needed
  • Must be dependable and act in a professional manner
  • Must be able to climb in and out of the truck several times a day
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and Drug Screen
  • One year or tractor trailer or bulk tanker driving experience required
  • Basic knowledge of transportation regulations
